Where else can you bring your group to be entertained, enchanted, amazed, and transported to another era — where the impossible appears before your very eyes?! Nowhere else but the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. Built in 1908, our authentic Victorian mansion has been home to The Academy of Magical Arts since 1963 and is the world’s most exclusive and renowned private club for magicians and supporters of the art of magic. Georgia and Marie invited Susan and I to join them for dinner.
The CHIC group had a magic time at the castle. Since there were exactly 12 of us, Georgia got the Houdini Séance room. We were even treated to a performance of Georgia in one of the close-up rooms. In another close-up room we got to see Johnny Ace Palmer do his classic chicks trick. He was manipulating small red balls under cups, you know, which cup has the ball under it. Wanda, since it was her birthday, got to be up front to examine the cups. Believe me, there was nothing unusual about the cups. At the end of the trick, he asked where the ball was and then proceeded to pick up all three cups, and there were three live chicks under the cups, one under each cup. Wanda then got to pick up one of the chicks, the other two people up front picked up the other two. It was a very cute LIVE baby chick. I have no idea how he pulled that off.
